Bio
Like many female writers, I’ve been putting pen to paper since I first read Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women.” Since graduating from college (political science, University of Delaware), I have been lucky enough to make a living as a writer or an editor.
During my career, I have reported or edited the news at daily newspapers and United Press International, written speeches and press releases as a public relations officer, and taught a journalism course that I created for Tufts University’s Experimental College.
I’ve worked in New Orleans; Chicago; Philadelphia; Raleigh, N.C.; and metro Boston, which I now call home.
As an independent writer, I create memorable and effective Web content, print articles, and fundraising and marketing materials. Because storytelling on the Internet is a multimedia affair, I have also begun shooting still pictures, recording audio and video, and weaving them together with digital tools. Before I write the first word, though, I take time to learn each client's goals and the audience we need to reach.
I also enjoy being able to donate my skills to projects I believe in. Each year, I help to raise funds for the Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Lawrence, Mass., the commonwealth's poorest city. While aiding such a good cause is its own reward, I take special delight in meeting the families who are working so hard for a Habitat home of their own.
How can I help to tell your story? It would be a privilege.
