My Story
I have more than 20 years of experience in journalism, public relations and marketing communications. Before forming Kathleen Clute Communications, I directed philanthropy communications for Lahey Health, where I helped raise tens of millions of dollars for the system’s five hospitals. Previously, I was communications manager for the Boston Foundation, a $1 billion community foundation that has been responding to the needs of Bostonians for more than a century.
My strategic storytelling has helped reach donors and communicate impact for many Boston-area nonprofits, including Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Miss Porter’s School, the Harvard Art Museums, World Ocean School, Groton School, and Steppingstone.org. Current areas of focus are development communications for the independent school and healthcare sectors.
I got my start in communications working as an award-winning reporter and editor for daily newspapers in New Orleans, Philadelphia and Raleigh, N.C. after earning a B.A. in political science from the University of Delaware.
